Let's get curious about our 3 'minds'.
Understanding Heart Brain coherence
What do you mean when you say we have 3 Minds?
We are often used to just thinking of our analytical Mind, the one we associate with our Brain and cognitive thinking.
If the Brain is our mind, where are the other 2 minds in our body?
1) Our heart carries energy receptors and speaks to us through our feelings. It is our cognitive brain that tries to rationalise the feelings creating its own perception. When we connect to our hearts, we are no longer limited by the stories and assumptions that our analytical brain carries. Our heart can communicate in a way our analytical mind doesn’t, it carries a wisdom beyond words. The deepest truth of where we are at regarding ourselves and others is felt from our heart, it speaks our 'honest self'.
2) Our Gut is our primal instinct- our safety and drive to get all our primal needs met. When people talk about gut instinct, it's often an immediate drive to do or believe something, without having any analytical knowledge of how, why or where that's coming from. It can speak loudly to us in a physiological way.
Is one ‘mind’ better than another?
Our bodies are intelligent and designed to keep us optimally balanced through our automatic nervous system. Our experience of life can sometimes cause our nervous system to reduce it's flexibility and ability to operate optimally, and this can show up as both physical and emotional distress. It is when our brain mind and our heart are in sync and alignment that we can create heart coherence.
What does heart coherence do?
When we are in a physiological state of heart coherence, our nervous system is in an optimal position to self-regulate, repair, heal and bring us into a balanced state of physical and emotional health. When we are in heart coherence, we can access inner clarity and our own inner guidance system. There is less need for our primal gut instinct to jump in because we are feeling safe in body and mind.
